Shelley Ken and Sydney are in Cuba so I am house sitting ~~It is like a mini vaction being away from the building I live it --here I can be outside when the weather permits !!Next week I will go to Selkirk and spend Easter with Cindy Darren Alex and Brooklyn
Then back here to house sit for another week
The weather ia getting better here but is still on the cool side
Thw poor geese donot know whether to fly north or south
There are many huddled here on the lake wondering what to do
Off to opening night at Prairie Theatre tonite and then I have nothing on my plate till Tuesday so ope I will get some stitching or knitting done

WHERE SHOULD I START
Hello to everyone DO I HAVE A STORY TO TELL
August 23/11 I went out to get a few groceries and ended up in Concordia Hospital Emergency
Was walking along the sidewalk and a car jumped the curb and ran me into a steel staircase and then a brick wall ---
I received stitches in the crown of my head and a broken wrist and hand
August 26 -- I went into surgery to repair my wrist and hand now resembled a hockey stick
-my wrist has a plate and 10 screws and the heel of my hand has 2 titanium rods !!
It has been a long haul with recovery and therapy
My therapist started using stitching and knitting as a form of therapy way back in November ! progress was slow but along with weight and the usual therapy for that kind of fractures I am back to 85%
My surgeon says that is unheard of for a person my age to come that far in less than 5 months !!
I am happy I have made such good strides and am knitting and stitching although slow I can do it
Here are some frilly scarves I have done with that new yarn

the start of my Quilt
Here is a quilt square I stitched for the beginning of my new quilt --my Stiching friends are also contributing squares
the binding around the quilt squares is the fabric in the background and the backing will be the bright green in the fabric
I will also use the green in the front-- I see i missed a bit of pink in the square --off to finish that now

Surprise Surprise I have a finish
Under pressure I finally finished the sock monkey
I still need to tweek the pattern a bit but not bad for a first
It has been another whirl wind month but I am not free of committments as far as volunteerings goes to till the fall -- Bowling is also finished till September
Now if we could get some summer weather all would be well with the world
My grandaughter Brooklyn became a TEENAGER on the 25th of this month -man seems like she was just a babe in arms
not much new here - I am working on a quilt for myself and a few of my dear friends are making brushstroke butterflies for me -- am on the hunt for finishing fabric now
Thats it for now----- hope to be back real soon
